August saw a big change for the First Tuesday Lunch Bunch. Our former watering hole, Dale’s of Vestavia, has closed because of lease negotiations that did not work out. As a result Betty Gunn and Joree Vance took on the task of finding a new meeting place in a hurry. Through recommendations from others, they settled on Richard’s Barbeque on Acton Road in Vestavia. The word got around rapidly and on August 2nd we had 22 in attendance. Everyone congratulated the leaders on their choice, and we agreed to meet there again for September. The pictures show the restaurant which is across from the AAA Office and the Kirkland Clinic, and a few of the attendees at the August meeting.

At our July meeting Jesse and Linda Shaddix brought two of their grandchildren, Marissa & Tyler Newman, who were visiting with them for about a month during Summer vacation.
