Being retired doesn’t mean you want to disconnect—at least, not if you’re Rev. Bill Parker. Bill looked for an opportunity to stay connected and found it at the Mountain Lakes District Office, where he is the go-to guy for property matters, planning and implementing programs and ministries, or consultations with pastors and churches. He also handles problems as they arise, answers many questions, and generally does whatever is needed.
Bill attended Pell City High School and earned his undergraduate degree at Jacksonville State University. He began his work in ministry as a student pastor while attending seminary at Emory’s Candler School of Theology. He was ordained an elder in 1983. Bill’s experience in six local church appointments makes him a perfect fit at the District Office.
When he’s not hammering on a Habitat for Humanity house or working in local church missions, Bill enjoys traveling, camping, and watching football. He and wife Nancy have a son, a daughter, and two granddaughters.
