Service of Celebration marking the 50th Anniversary of Full Ordination Rights for Women
May 4, 2006
During the service held at Trussville First UMC, worshippers from across North Alabama remembered those women who have gone before us, celebrating in music and song, listening to the Word of God through scripture and message, and receiving communion together as the Body of Christ. Bishop William H. Willimon opened the service with prayer, Rev. Dorothy Ann Webster led a prayer llitany, Rev. Kelly Clem brought the message, Rev. Barbara Harper served as communion celebrant and Dr. Kay Mutert led a special clergywomen's choir.
