At Annual Conference this year, members will consider 32 amendments to the constitution of the United Methodist Church. Amendments to the constitution may be debated at Annual Conference but they may not be amended.
Of these 32, 23 are related to the creation of regional conferences as a uniform global structure of the church. Many of these 23 simply change the phrase central conference to regional conference. In five instances, two amendments are proposed for the same paragraph.
