AC09 Mission Offering

The Mission Offering will be collected during the Service of Ordination to Empower Children in Zimbabwe

This year’s mission offering will go to the Ishe Anesu Project (General Board of Global Ministries Advance Special #13071A) where children are leading the way.

The Ishe Anesu Project, founded by GBGM missionary Maria Humbane in 1998, provides education to children orphaned primarily due to HIV/AIDS. Students are provided scholarships that pay school fees, buy school
uniforms (wearing uniforms is required), books, 2 meals daily, doctor’s appointments, and transportation. The after-school program offers Bible study, recreation and field trips. Current enrollment is 60 although they can accommodate 100. Ishe Anesu also empowers the mothers, teaching basic skills like sewing, baking, knitting and cooking special meals.

Funds are needed for projects operation. Scholarships are needed to send students to Marange High School, a United Methodist mission school. Annual sponsorship of a primary school student is $300 and a
secondary school student is $600. Ishe Anesu also needs a vehicle (possibly a mini bus) to transport students to school and doctor appointments.
