During 2010, Gardendale-Mt. Vernon UMC is celebrating its 150th Anniversary.
One highlight of the year-long celebration will be on Sunday, May 2, 2010, when the Gardendale-Mt. Vernon will hold a Homecoming Sunday to celebrate its 150 year history. Cameron UMC celebrates 125 years
Cameron United Methodist Church just concluded a month of celebration, marking 125 years of serving the Lord in northeast Madison County.
The celebration began with the annual homecoming celebration on August 9. During the 11 a.m. service many former members and friends joined the Cameron crowd for an inspiring worship service. The sanctuary was filled with memorabilia and photos from years past.

Whorton Bend UMC celebrates 100 years and looks to future ministry
Whorton Bend United Methodist Church celebrated its 100th year anniversary on Sunday, August 16.
The celebration inlcuded a worship/celebration service held in the sanctuary, followed by a huge lunch in the fellowship hall. There was an afternoon of singing with The Harmony Trio which wrapped up the day's events.

Approximately 300 people gathered at St. James UMC in Montgomery on March 29, 2008 to celebrate the Bicentennial of Alabama Methodism. The joint celebration between the Alabama - West Florida and North Alabama Conferences treated participants to storytelling, music, singing, and fellowship.

Alabama Methodists to Celebrate 200 years of Methodism in Alabama
The year 2008 marks 200 years of Methodism in Alabama. Governor Bob Riley has issued a Proclamation that 2008 be recognized as the Bicentennial of Methodism in the State of Alabama.
