Cullman First UMC reaches out to teachers as new school year begins

Ms Adams and Ms Edge, staff members of Cullman Middle School,
receive the gift basket and promise from the church.

As the Cullman city schools were preparing for a new school year, Cullman First UMC placed gift baskets in the faculty break rooms of every city school as a way to say “thank you” to the teachers for role in the lives of children.

Beyond the thank you, the congregation also delivered a promise with each basket: if a teacher sees a child in need (field trip expenses, supplies, clothes, etc.), just call the church and the need will be met. Period.

The funds for these needs come through offerings left during communion.

This is SUPER! Our Church at Cedar Bluff provides school supplies year-round, brown bag lunches for children who would otherwise go hungry on weekends and have monthly programs and community meals for school kids and their parents. Every church should find ways to reach out to the children in their community. Way to go Cullman 1st!
