Annual Conference 2009 will focus on the Conference priority of Empowering a New Generation of Christians. In an intentional effort to put that priority into practice Annual Conference 2009 will wrap up on Saturday night with a concert by the band Rush of Fools.
Tickets are $10 each. It will be a high energy night for youth throughout North Alabama to join together in the spirit of the United Methodist connection.
“We are very excited to have a band with the talent and spiritual depth as Rush Of Fools” says Robert Mercer, Connectional Ministries Consultant, Youth and Young Adult Ministries “We hope and pray that this is an event that youth and young adults can come together and celebrate being a part of the North Alabama Conference.”
Rush of Fools is an Alabama-based group and one of the hardest working Christian Rock Bands today. The group is made up of guitarist/vocalist/songwriter Kevin Huguley, lead vocalist/songwriter Wes Willis, guitarist J.D. Frazier, bassist Jacob Chesnut and drummer Jamie Sharpe.
The concert is a private concert for North Alabama United Methodists. North Alabama Conference Churches are encouraged to bring groups of youth and young adults. It will be a fun evening for those young people to invite their friends to join their church group and experience a meaningful event.
Director of Connectional Ministries Dale Cohen says, “We’re so fortunate to have a quality band like Rush of Fools concluding our annual conference. They will bring both energy and inspiration to all those in attendance and it will be a great way to send us out into the world to make disciples and to transform our world.”
Tickets are limited and are available on a first come first serve basis. You may register your group / order tickets at www.northalabamaumc.org/rushoffools.
