The Southeast District announces a new Assistant to the District Superintendent. The Reverend David Carboni becomes the new assistant to District Superintendent Stryker. Rev. Carboni will continue in his role as pastor of Red Ridge UMC.
At the District Conference on May 20th, Dr. Richard L. Stryker thanked Rev. Mike Densmore for his hard work and support of the last four years. Rev. Densmore is moving out of the District to become Executive Pastor at Alabaster First UMC. DS Stryker welcomed Rev. Carboni to the new assignment and expressed optimism for the new conference year.
Reverend David J. Carboni is a native of Guntersville, Alabama. In 1972 he graduated from Auburn University in Industrial Design. He answered his call to ministry while selling for Ortho Pharmaceuticals and graduated from Candler School of Theology, Emory University in 1986.
While at Auburn he met Kay Yeilding, of Birmingham, and they were married in 1972. David and Kay have three children, Beth, Paul and Mark, and, in September 2012, will have five grandchildren.
David has served on many conference and district committees most notable the Board of Ordained Ministry where he administered the Minister’s Education Fund for two quadriniums.
David and Kay love being with their children and grandchildren, frolicking around Lake Logan Martin in their boat and traveling. David enjoys fishing, woodworking, golf and not being idle.
