Bishop Willimon is convening all those who have entered the ministry of the North Alabama Conference in the last eight years for an afternoon of conversation on Tuesday, June 26 at the United Methodist Center from 1 to 3 p.m.
"One of our priorities has been to reach a new generation of leaders for our church. I’m proud of what we have done to pass the responsibilities of leadership to a new group of pastors, to recruit young leadership from other conferences, and to empower a new generation," said Bishop Willimon. "I have been so pleased by the work of the young clergy network in our conference as well as the leadership given by our young clergy like Julie Holly and Wade Griffith. As my time in Alabama ends, I want to meet with them one more time to encourage them in their repositioning of our church to reach a new generation."
During this year’s Annual Conference, many speakers, including Bishop Willimon, noted our pressing need for more young clergy leaders.
