The ladies of Bluff Park United Methodist Church and guests enjoyed the 13th consecutive Ladies Day on the first Saturday in May 2012. The day included Bible study, entertainment, a delicious lunch door prizes and wonderful fellowship.
The purpose of the event was to bring ladies together for a time of worship and fun. This year's theme was "It's All About You." Frances Bellows, served as Mistress of Ceremonies
Upon arrival the ladies were invited to the Reid Crotty Dining Room to view the lovely tablescapes. Each table was decorated with a unique theme. Winners of the tablescapes contest were also announced.
The ladies then gathered in the Chapel where Betsy Britain gave a beautiful tribute and the memory candle was lit in memory of the ladies who had died since the last ladies day. Following a refreshment break, Becky Walker, a Bible teacher and Lay Leader, brought an inspirational Bible Message titled “Bloom Where You're Planted - The Seed ," based on the 13th chapter of Matthew.
Attendees then enjoyed a surprise when storyteller Delores Hydock and composer Bobby Horton performed "Women of the West.”
At noon a delicious meal of special orange salad, chicken over bed of rice, vegetable medley, melt-in your-mouth rolls, with an assortment of Cheesecake for dessert was served. The luncheon entertainment was ventriloquist Geraldine Ragan and Ricky. Following lunch a Fashion Show was presented by the Hoover Belles.
Many women served on the team to plan and present this special event including Doris Smith, Anita Smith, Susan Mays, and Sara Perry.
