The 2012 Lake Junaluska Ministry Summit: Shifting from Management to Mission August 5-7 will explore some of the fundamentals of change that the church is facing.

Ministry in a changed and constantly changing mission field requires learning new ways of outreach rather than relying on standard practices. Being efficient at what we do as ministry leaders is not the same as learning to be effective at what the mission field needs.

Laity and clergy leaders are invited to explore the leadership of our congregations. Understanding the need for clear outcomes in any situation and the leadership role of conversation as a tool for discernment will equip attendees at any level of leadership to build and expand the mission outreach of their congregations.

Leadership will be provided by Gil Rendle, Senior Consultant with The Institute for Clergy and Congregational Excellence of The Texas Methodist Foundation in Austin, Texas.
