We hope your summer has been incredibly exciting, full of fun, faith and wonderful memories. While summer is coming to a close, we wanted to make sure that you knew of a few events that we're cooking up for you and your ministry!

Join us on August 25 as we offer an outstanding array of seminars that help you make youth ministry as easy as apple pie. With so many students filling up on ministry experiences around the globe it can be hard to stay current. But we want to show you how to make youth ministry your bread and butter before you become toast. Jason Gant will lead general sessions, and several breakout sessions will be available covering many topics. Learn and network alongside fellow youth leaders and volunteers. Lunch is provided!
Who: All Youth Leaders and Volunteers
Where: Trinity UMC, Birmingham
When: August 25, 8am-4:30pm

Begin making your plans now to join us for Encounter on February 22-24, 2013 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee! Our speaker this year is Duffy Robbins, and Ben Nelson will be leading worship. Battle of the Band 2012 winners Asbury UMC Birmingham's Praise Band will lead a session as well. Breakout groups, mountain air and Gatlinburg's many tourist opportunities make this a can't-miss event! For more information, check out northalabamaumc.org/youth.

This year's winner of Battle of the Bands was the youth praise band from Asbury UMC Birmingham! They'll be leading a session of worship at this year's Encounter weekend. Start gearing up for next year's event, during Annual Conference at Birmingham-Southern College. (More details to follow as the new Bishop creates the schedule for Annual Conference.)
We're in the beginning stages of creating an online resource directory for our youth leaders (both paid and volunteer). We'll be featuring curriculum for Bible Studies, youth games, youth retreat travel ideas and more! Do you have an amazing resource that you frequent or share with colleagues? Have you written curriculum that was effective and can be shared with other youth leaders? Do you have a favorite game that you and your youth love to play? Email your submissions to Emily Nelms Chastain at echastain@northalabamaumc.org. Bible study curriculum will undergo a review by a currculum board, which is in the process of establishment.
Is your district holding a youth event? Let us know so that we can include it in our newsletters and on our website! Email Emily Nelms Chastain with your information at echastain@northalabamaumc.org.
We're dedicated to making sure you have all the resources you need to effectively minister to your youth. Let us know if we can help in anyway!
Have you liked us on Facebook or followed us on Twitter? You can get all the information you need about upcoming events to general conversation to networking with other Youth Leaders. Or give us a call about any event that you have questions about!
