ERT Training
Want to be trained in Early Response and save the $40 that usually comes with the training? Now's your chance! Rev. Matt Lacey will be leading an ERT Training at the United Methodist Center in Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday, November 5, from 9am - 5pm, but space is limited to 30 people and registration is required. Lunch will be provided and the $40 registration cost is waived for this event. However, if your background check is not up-to-date, you will need to submit $12 for your background consent (please contact Nacole Hillman at nhillman@northalabamaumc.org to see if yours is current). Now Scheduling Teams
We're now scheduling teams for the fall and into 2012 to serve and help rebuild North Alabama. All that is required is to be willing and able! For more information, go to www.rebuildnorthalabama.org and click on "Register Your Team." There, you'll find our Guidebook, which will go into detail about areas that need teams and how to schedule your team, as well as what to expect in Alabama. If you have more questions, jot them down, and the Guidebook will tell you who to contact! We'd love to have you visit us in North Alabama and serve alongside you!
Home Appliances Needed!
Our Decatur Disaster Warehouse is in desperate need of washers, dryers and stoves. If you have donations, or have a connection that can provide these donations, please contact Ray Crump in the Disaster Warehouse at (256) 341-9961.
Winter Clothing and Christmas Donation Drive
The Decatur Disaster Warehouse is now collecting the following for April storm survivors: Winter jackets for men and women, sweaters for men and women, new insulated underwear for both men and women, table-top artificial Christmas trees (please, no large trees) and Christmas decorations. Email Emily Nelms at enelms@northalabamaumc.org to let her know when you visited and how many photos you have to share, as well as what your story is (please notify before sending, as you might end up in a Spam filter if you send a large file!).
Building Supplies
If you would like to donate money to help in the purchasing of building supplies for the homes that are being remodeled and rebuilt from the April storms, you can send it directly to the District or to the Conference Office.
