Stryker to Lead Ethnic Ministries in North Alabama UMC
The leadership of Ethnic Ministries, currently a part time position, will become a full time position. Rev. Dr. Richard L. Stryker has been appointed to serve in the full time role as Executive Director of Ethnic Ministries and will begin serving after Annual Conference. He will work closely with a new Strategy Team to bring about the necessary changes for growth.

Duncan Memorial Hosts 5th Sunday Singing
The tradition of Rev's John and Charles Wesley and Methodists around the world, of the people gathering to sing favorite songs and hymns of the church continues in the North Alabama Conference. Fifth Sunday Singing has been a tradition in the Alexander City area for over twenty years.
However, this year has been a slow start of the Fifth Sunday Singings, with the past couple of Fifth Sundays on special holidays; And the next Fifth Sunday would be the weekend before the Fourth of July. Therefore, pastors of the Comer UMC, Duncan UMC, Equality UMC, New Site UMC and Trinity-Kellyton UMCs decided to do a Fifth Sunday on the Fourth Sunday, 28 April 2013, at the Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Thom Porter. After the Singing, the Duncan Church provided plenty of finger-food snacks and social after the Singing. Clay County churches offer prayers and supplies for schools at Ash Wednesday Service
The United Methodist Churches of Clay County showed love to local schools during their 2nd Annual Ash Wednesday Worship Service. The churches donated more than $1,000 worth of school supplies to Ashland and Lineville Elementary Schools and to Central High School of Clay County. ...MORE..

Mission Support Month at Lineville First UMC
February has been a month of mission emphasis at Lineville First. We began with our annual Souper Bowl Sunday on February 3, hosted by the United Methodist Women. A soup and sandwich lunch, and silent auction followed the morning worship service. The silent auction featured talents and crafts of many of the members. Over $1700 was raised.
