Southeast District Pastors Meeting

Date: February 2, 2010; Place: Alexander City First UMC Fellowship Hall

The pastors and District Superintendent will meet to discuss the 2010 plans for ministry in the Southeast District. This is a requird meeting.  

5:30 PM - Gathering & dinner
5:45 PM - Devotion led by Rev. James Haskins
6:00 PM - Meeting with District Supt. Stryker
6:30 PM - Study for Lent

7:00 PM - Meeting with District Supt. Stryker (repeat of 6:00 PM) 

For those pastor unable to attend these sessions, there will be a "make-up" meeting on Sunday, February 7 at Camp Hill UMC (14 Heard St. Camp Hill) at 2:30 PM.

Starting and Growing Successful Small Group Ministries

Date; February 6, 2010; Place Canterbury UMC, Birmingham.

Cost; $15.00 per person. Time: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

The Southeast District Believes that the key place for growth in all churches is the small group. It provides the place for building relationship and the place where lay people with similar interest can help one another grow spiritually. 

If you are a lay or clergy person wanting the skill to start a new group or multiply the groups you have, we want to support you in this endeavor. You are invited to attend the small group workshop "Starting and Growing Successful Small Group Ministries." If you attend a church in the Southeast District, let us know that you attended this training and we will reimburse you $5.00 towards the cost. Don't forget to take the District up on our promise. Bishop Willimon will meet with pastors and key leaders during visit

Date: February 21-22, 2010

Bishop Willimon will be in the Southeast District from the February 21 to 22, 2010 meeting with pastors and key lay persons.

Sunday, February 21st: at Flint Hill UMC
3:00 PM - Meet with part-time pastors. Each pastor is asked to bring one or two key lay persons to this presentation. 

4:30 PM - Fellowship meal and mingling

5:00 PM - Worship at Flint Hill with Bishop Willimon preaching.

Monday, February 22nd at Flint Hill UMC
9:00 AM - Meet with full-time pastors. Each pastor is asked to bring one or two key lay persons to this presentation
