Church Finance Matters
(Workshop in Southeast District)
Treasurers, pastors and finance committee members are invited

Participants will receive tools and tips on administering the local church's finance.
Treasurers in particular will find this training helpful as Scott Selman will cover such areas as W-2 for employees (including pastors), statement of giving, apportionment, and benefits.

Accelerating Church Growth - Participants Inspired
On Saturday, February 11, 2012, One hundred and fifteen participants gathered for the Accelerating Church Growth event. They explored effective strategies for growing churches.
These lay and clergy persons gave up Saturday morning to explore with Reverend Olujimi “Olu” Brown strategies connected to inspiring worship, growing small groups, and practicing hospitality. ..MORE..

United Methodist Churches Donate to Clay County Schools
On February 22nd the pastors of the Ashland Circuit led their churches in doing something special and meaningful for their community as part of a joint Prayer and Illumination Ash Wednesday service...
Members of Ashland First UMC, Bethlehem UMC, Pleasant Grove UMC, Liberty Hill UMC, Lineville First UMC, Oak Grove UMC and Shady Grove UMC donated about $2,000 worth of supplies for Ashland Elementary & Primary Schools, Clay County High School, and Lineville Elementary and High Schools. ...MORE...

Hillabee Campground UMC Dedicates New Building
Hillabee Campground United Methodist congregation and guests gathered on Sunday, February 12th for the dedication of their new Education and Fellowship center. Pastor David Sherrell delivered the message. The service was held at 11:00 AM in the historic sanctuary. On this site, “the first camp meeting was held in 1847, under a brush arbor and tent holders camped in cloth tents.”[i] In a new day, the church prepares for the future. ..MORE..

Hopewell's 4th Annual Youth Showcase
Hello Youth Leaders!
The 4th Annual Youth Showcase is scheduled for Friday, March 16th, 2012. Last year’s event was amazing!
There were Youth from all over the area that performed and fellowshipped late into the night, what a blessing it
was. I am in awe of the talents that God has given these kids and at their willingness to share those talents with others.
