We United Methodist Christians can no longer wait for the unsaved to come to church; we must take the church to them. In 2010, as District Lay Leader, I visited over 40 Local Churches in the Southeast District. The Successful District churches go into the Local community and make a difference in the name of Jesus Christ. The status quo churches live only in the walls of their Local Church. As a Delegate, I will support changes in the Discipline that will better enable the members of the Wesleyan United Methodist Churches reach the unsaved. Steve Lyles

Steve is an incredible asset as a DLL and as a member of the NAC Board of Ordained Ministry. As a DLL he makes a special effort to visit and worship with EVERY church in his district. I think his example of servant leadership would be a perfect representation of our NAC at General Conference.

I think Steve has done a great job as SE District Lay Leader. He makes an effort to get to know and understand all of our churches and to help their laity become effective leaders within their churches. I think Steve is just the type of person that we need to represent our confernce at General Conference.

Steve has a deep commitment to Christ and His Church. Couple this this with his history of ethical and professional leadership in the business arena, and he is someone who can be trusted to represent that which scripture, tradition, reason and experience supports as best for the UMC.

As many of you know, if Steve is given a responsibility, he dedicates himself to the task with skill, grace and determination. I cannot imagine anyone better to represent the NAC at General Conference.
